Koh Adang ‘’Adang’’ is changed from the word ‘’Udang’’ in malay, which means ‘’prawn’’ – this area was once a rich sea of prawn. Koh Adang is the location of the Tarutao National Park Ranger Station To To 5 (laem Son – Koh Adang). The island has an area Of around 30 sq km. with a beautiful beach of ne sand. It is surrounded by small islands, such as KohLipeh, Koh Dong, KohHinNgam and Koh Yang, and is an ideal place for skin-diving. Geographically, it features high mountions covered with dense green forests. There is a waterfall called “Namtok Chon Salat” which has water owing all year round.
On the island, there is also a viewpoint called “PhaChado,” which was an observatory point for pirates in the past to attack commercial ships. Nowadays, it is a beautiful viewpoint which requires a 40-minute walk to reach the top. An open ground on PhaChado or the Chado cliff overlooks lines of pine trees and the white sandy cape of KohAdang and KohLipeh.
